Anthony Rizzo Knocks In Six Runs In Rout

The Chicago Cubs pounded the Arizona Diamondbacks pitching staff to coast 14-6 in a game that was marred by a collision between Kyle Schwarber and Dexter Fowler injury Schwarber. Schwarber has a sprained ankle, and a MRI will be done tomorrow. The Cubs battled back from a 4-2 deficit, and 6-4 deficit to win going away.  The Diamondbacks gave up ten walks and surrendered 14 hits to the Cubs.

Anthony Rizzo was an offensive machine the game going three for four with six RBI. He hit a home run and a triple. Rizzo has knocked in nine runs in his first four games. The Cubs were 8 for 21 with runners in scoring something that has hindered the team in the past.  Kris Bryant was three for six with a RBI in the game.  Addison Russell went two for four, and contributed two RBI. John Lackey making his first start with the Cubs struggled in the beginning, but settled down to earn the win despite giving up six earned runs.

The Cubs have scored 29 runs in their first three games of the season giving an example of what an offensive juggernaut this has the potential to become.
