One night after getting rocked by the Chicago Cubs Andrew Heaney has been placed on the disabled list with a strained flexor muscle in his left forearm. He had complained of tightness in the forearm, and his fastball had lost five mph off it by the time he was removed from the game after six innings.

The Angels already have southpaw C. J. Wilson on the disabled list, and Jered Weaver has experienced problems this spring as well with his velocity dropping. Nick Tropeano will likely be recalled to take his spot in the rotation. The Angels do have Tyler Skaggs a southpaw that could be a rotation option for the Halos as well.

According to Alden Gonzalez of that doctors have assured the Angels that Heaney's ulnar collateral ligament is healthy. It appears the Angels will rest the arm of Heaney for a couple weeks before deciding their next step with the young lefty.
