The New York Yankees have lost righthand reliever Bryan Mitchell for at least four months according to manager Joe Girardi. Mitchell had to have surgery on a toe he fractured at the end of Spring Training. Mitchell was an important part of the Yankee bullpen, which is considered one of the best in baseball. To start the season the depth of the bullpen could be challenged, but the back end is still lights out. Mitchell had pitched well in the spring allowing only a single earned run in 14.2 innings of work.
