The Atlanta Braves have designated outfielder Michael Bourn for assignment according to  David O'Brien of the Atlanta-Journal-Consititution. The Braves cut utilityman Emilio Bonifacio earlier in the day as well. O'Brien points out that the two highest paid Braves have been cut by the team (the other being Nick Swisher released earlier).

The Braves selected the contracts of outfielder Drew Stubbs, and pitcher Alexi Ogando. Bourn's numbers have been in free fall since he inked the deal with the Indians in 2013, and Bonifacio was rarely used by the White Sox 2015.
