The Milwaukee Brewers have announced they have signed right-hand relief pitcher Carlos Torres. Torres, who had signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves earlier this year, and had opted out of his contract after being told that he wouldn't make the 25-man roster.
Torres despite his struggles last season has been an effective member of the Mets pen for the last three seasons. Over his career he is 23-24 with an ERA of 4.26. He has allowed 8.9 hits, 3.3 walks, and 7.9 strike outs per nine innings of work in the Major Leagues. Torres provides the Brewers some flexibility as he has started some in the past. Though last season with the Mets that was part of game wasn't needed.
