Cory Luebke once a promising young pitcher with the San Diego Padres has earned a roster sport according to GM Neal Huntington of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Luebke hasn't pitched in a Major League game since the 2012 season, and has struggled through two Tommy John surgeries since. Luebke will be a part of the Pirates bullpen to start the 2016 season. The southpaw impressed the Pittsburgh brass as a non-roster invitee during Spring Training, and is one of the feel good stories coming into the season. It remains to be seen how his arm will hold up over the course of a full season.
