The Los Angeles Dodgers have lost outfielder Andre Ethier for 10-14 weeks with a broken right tibia, but the injury will not require surgery. Ethier is coming off a good season in 2015, where his slash line was a very solid .294/.366/.486. He had 455 plate appearances for the Dodgers in what was a platoon role. There had been rumors in the offseason the Dodgers would try to move the left-hand hitter before his 10 and 5 rights kicked in April.
The Dodgers have other options with left-hand hitters Joc Pederson and Carl Crawford on the 40-man roster. The Dodgers are deep in outfielders, and should be able to replace Ethier, but the two outfielders are unlikely to provide the production of Andre Ethier.
